Sheriff Lou Falgoust Undersheriff Dave Larson
The Hot Springs County Sheriff`s Department has thirteen dedicated individuals whose primary purpose is to protect the well-being, safety and security of all the people in the County. The Department is also responsible for operating a safe and constitutional jail. In recent years, the Department has upgraded its radios and communications. It has worked closely with the Town of Thermopolis Police Department. In fact, both agencies work out of the Joint Law Enforcement Center at 417 Arapahoe.
The Department has supported programs that encourage education, self-help and self-esteem. The DARE program in the schools is an example of a program that helps young people choose responsible alternatives to alcohol, drugs and tobacco.

Law Enforcement Center
On Sunday, May 17th, the Sheriff`s office and the Thermopolis Police Department sponsored a memorial service to honor and pay tribute to those in law enforcement who have given their lives in the course of duty. The photos were taken at Monument Hill Cemetery during the service. A wreath was placed on the grave of one of the fallen officers from Hot Springs County. Seven officers in our nation have been killed in the line of duty thus far this year so that we may live safely and in peace. Please take a moment to remember and thank them in your thoughts and prayers.
